CLOTHING AND TEXTILES – FASHION MERCHANDISING EMPHASIS
Suggested Course Sequence: A Four-Year Plan

At least 68 total and 25 upper-division credits are required for the BA in Clothing & Textiles: Fashion Merchandising major. This course sequence is meant to be used as a guideline. Consult with your faculty advisor or academic counselor about modifying this plan to meet your needs, and to reflect any coursework you have already completed prior to enrolling at SPU.

Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)	Complete elementaryforeign language,if requirement was not fulfilled in high school. Unless you are exempt, take the Math Placement Test at least three academic quarters before you intend to take your Exploratory Curriculum math class. Complete ENG 2201, if required.			AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA, NSA, NSB, MAT (Choose one to three depending on competency courses needed)
Other				Electives to reach at least 45 credits if needed

Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (Choose three to five depending on competency courses needed)
Other	Apply for admission to the major once three FCS courses have been successfully completed.			Electives to reach at least 90 credits if needed

Major	FCS 3840, FCS 3875 (also offered winter)	FCS 3842, FCS 3870, FCS 3822	FCS 3830,	FCS 3240. Select one of the following courses: BUS 3541, 3544, 3545, or 3657.
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other	Apply to graduate once 105 credits and admission to major have been earned.			Electives to reach at least 135 credits if needed

YEAR 4	Autumn	Winter	Spring	Any Quarter

Major		FCS 4822  (also offered spring)		FCS 4899, FCS 3240
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other	Create a final-year plan and meet with your faculty advisor for review.			Electives to reach at least 180 total college-level quarter credits and 60 upper-division credits if needed
