FOOD AND NUTRITIONAL SCIENCES – FOOD AND NUTRITION EMPHASIS
Suggested Course Sequence: A Four-Year Plan

At least 83-117 total and 25 upper-division credits are required for the BS in Family and Consumer Sciences – Food and Nutrition major. This course sequence is meant to be used as a guideline. Consult with your faculty advisor or academic counselor about modifying this plan to meet your needs, and to reflect any coursework you have already completed prior to enrolling at SPU.

Common Curriculum		OR	OR
Major	CHM 1100	,	CHM 1330	FCS 1050, MAT 1360 OR HSC 4044
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)	Begin or resume foreign language competency courses, if not complete. Complete ENG 2201, if required. Unless you are exempt, take the Math Placement Test at least three academic quarters before the term you intend to take Statistics.			AHA, AHB, SSA, SSB (Choose up to two depending on competency courses needed)
Other				Electives to reach at least 45 credits if needed

YEAR 2	Autumn	Winter	Spring	Any Quarter
Common Curriculum				/
Major	BIO 2129, FCS 2365	BIO 2130	FCS 2375, FCS 3340
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHA, AHB, SSA, SSB (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other	Apply for admission to the major once the following courses have been completed: CHM 1211, 1330, BIO 2129, 2130, FCS 1050 and 2365 or 3340. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required.			Electives to reach at least 90 credits if needed

Other	Apply to graduate once 105 credits and admission to major have been earned.			Electives to reach at least 135 credits if needed
